1962 Short stroke piston
Thanks to the effort of a club member who managed to find a NOS 74.00mm short stroke piston suitable for '62 models, we have been able to have tooling made and secure production of a batch of pistons - in standard size only.
These are now available from club spares under part no. 910103 with a RRP of £225 inc. vat.

It was a him called John Podesta from Southampton. May be we can get other pistons that we don't have made by the same company i am sure the samples are out there.

Re: 1962 Short stroke piston
Once they had confirmed the design and we had paid tooling costs it took just under 3 months for delivery.

Re: 1962 Short stroke piston
Great news! I visited Omega in 2010 to ask about 72mm pistons for my 1966 short-stroke. At that time the only option was (expensive) CNC machining as they did not have tooling for the 72mm piston.

Re: 1962 Short stroke piston
I have two spare 1964-on 72mm (350cc G3) pistons - unsure of the condition and as to why they're not in an engine! But then again my father bought them in the early 80s. One is in an old box (possibly original box) and labelled as being from a Model 16, the other is loose wrapped in paper and may have been removed from an engine or failed in someway. I have checked for size with my callipers and can see no obvious damage.
Obviously I want to keep them as back up for my G3 once it's up and running, but I am happy to lend them out should anyone wish to use them as a template for reference.
I'll post pics later on.
