I think JLS should have been written as JSL and refers to 'Jampot Spares Ltd', which was a separate limited company, the forerunner to what's now called Club Spares.

Incidentally, you don't need to remove the pinion to split the c/case halves.

You do on earlier single Nev I think pre 54 ish?

JLS may have just be 'Jampot Ltd Spares', I can't think of who else Itma would've been referring to.
