I am very sad to bring you the news that Rick Edwards known by his friends as ‘The Piston Ring King’ passed away last night. He was a lovely chap and will be fondly remembered and often thought of by all who knew him. I will let you know when I have further details.

A very sad lose. My condolences to his wife and family. The Heart of England section will not be the same without him.

ALL of us that knew him will have lost a
"GREAT FRIEND" !!
Now we must see he has a "GREAT SEND OFF" to the Next place he goes !!
Thinking off all the Family at this SAD !! time.

I was approaced last night, that perhaps I ( the e group monitor ) should be the one to inform the prewar e group about the sad news of Ricks passing. So I pasted your announcement to the group.
Messages of condolences are being received from group members. From those that knew him, words to the effect he was one of the best.
