quote: Wilko - Jan specifically mentioned with out heating the crankcase, which implies bearings out of their housing, not shaft out of bearings.

Alan, sorry for my unprecise way of explanation. Yes, I meant "shaft out of bearing", just as Wilko considered. The bearings are still in place in the crankcase, as you can see on some of my pictures.

I thank you all for the lots of information!! - which will definitely help me.

A wonderful Christmas time and good health & contentment to everybody!

Cheers, Jan

Guys

Just for a chat... I recently took my WD engine to Goddens (race engine builders and manufacturer of Vincent engine parts). They found that one bearing (can't remember which side) was a sliding fit in the crank case. They machined the crank case and made a brass ring to fit that and the bearing.

The engine is now back in the bike awaiting build up.

Apologies Douggie, got that wrong, should have spotted the bearings in situ.

So we don't have to speak knurling or Loctite now.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if Jampot Spares sells a 2-piece crankpin for the 1961 G80CS ?

If so, what is the part number ?

Apart from the radius/interference issue, I like the sound of the lower fatige stress from a simple parallel shaft.

Cheers,

Rob

Hi, Rick. Would you verify that the 900595 is for the short stroke plunger oil pump engines 1956-1963? The description in JSL list gives no information on application.

Thank you, Don.

Don. checked crankpin data today, 900595 is ok for all 500cc engines with plunger pumps ,untill 1964 . The dates in books can be misleading. Regards Rick[:)
