Resistance wire

Hi can anyone tell me more about the "resistance wire" on a Model 8 350 lightweight 1960? I have had to partially rewire the bike so far and don't want to cause issues.

Quite frankly you need to forget it and bring the electrics up to date. If you are sticking with 6v then the best option is the A Reg six available from Paul Goff.
