Hello and reach out ( Matchless Typhoon 1960)

Post by sdillon »

Hi folks,
At the age of 19 I had a Matchless G80 and now at the age of 62 I have just purchased a Matchless G80 Typhoon :)

I live in the UK Midlands not far from the Birmingham Motorcycle Museum and just wondered if there are any Typhoon owners not too far away that I can link up with to share info etc in any manner. Phone, email.. Happy to use this forum as well :)

As I don't know any motorcycle clubs in this area, so I am also looking as well re doing runs etc

any contact welcome cheers Simon

A lovely bike and pretty rare. There weren't many Typhoons made and you have been lucky to find one. They are similar to the 500cc scrambler which are more plentiful, still not common but much more so than a Typhoon.
Best of luck.

Thanks John and yes was good to talk today Peter appreciate you looking and the advice.
I found one on the US spares list but not contacted the spares guy yet, it looked quite pricey particularly if you add import duty.
If you find one even better so will hang on :).
I am not getting notifications so happy if you email me, my address is spadillon@live.co.uk
