Hi, im new to AMC machines. Can anyone help me with an engine number?

Hi Richard, what help are you wanting? The number you have recorded does not look quite right to me are you sure it is correct.

That engine number doesn't fit the sequence used by AMC, so perhaps there is a typo somewhere.

Should start G12CS or G12CSR. I've never seen G12CR on an AMC engine

Earlier engines, up to around 1961 start with the year, eg 61/G12CSR

Sometime in 1962 the factory drops the year stamp and engines start G12/CSR etc

The X on the twin engine numbers starts to appear around 1959. I don't know what the X stands for.

By 1965/66 the last twin engines still had the X and the engine numbers reached 5 digits, but start 10.

X19522 is a far higher number than any known AMC twin engine or anything in the records.
