1950 18S 500cc cylinder barrel specs.
I am trying to determine the specs for the 1950 18S cylinder barrel.
So far I have the
Height: 160mm (6.3in)
ID:82.55mm (3.25iin) standard bore.
The unknowns are:
? OD: 87.05mm (3.43in)
? Wall thickness" 2.25mm (.1/8in)
If anybody could confirm this please.
Also I have read where members have acquired new sleeves.
If I could find the suppliers please.
Regards,
Greg Swaney.

That's where I got my liner and pistons from, local motorcycle engineering shop did the fitting of the liner etc.

Can't help with the dimensions, I afraid, but T & L Engineering (contact details in the back of Jampot) have relined two of my barrels. A 350cc G3/LS and a 500cc M18s. Photos are 'before' and 'after' they relined the 350cc barrel.

Greg is based in New South Wales Australia so it would probably be helpful if someone knows of a local supplier.

Welcome to the club, Greg.
The Hepolite catalogue in Christians Archive shows that the liner FS.1933 was used on the AJS and Matchless 500 singles from 1938 to 1959.
See here:

Two minutes Googling for
FS.1933 cylinder liner Australia returns a liner stockist in Brisbane

There are probably more in Australia if you care to spend more time on Google than I did.
And in NZ (a lot nearer than the U.K.) this company has info including fitting and interference dims for the FS.1933
See here:

Even if the above firms and maybe others that you find can't help they may be able to refer you to a firm that can supply and/or fit who are nearer than in the U.K.
You'll have to do a bit of detection work on the web and by email/phone.
