They should light up if your speedometer lights up, according to the above.

May depend on the speedo. With the Chronometrics some had two long windows allowing the speedo light to spill out, although none of this type were originally fitted to AMC heavyweights. The smaller magnetic speedos fitted to the lightweights may be the same, although I am not familiar enough with them.
