AJS 31 1960 alternator model

The nut retaining the alternator rota on the end of the crankshaft is it a normal right hand thread or a left hand.
Has anyone had to resort to an impact driver to free the nut.
I would appreciate some help (and yes, for those with good memories, we've been here before!!!)
