You’re a star! Plenty of information there to enter the zone with little or no friction! I really do appreciate all the time and effort you put in to replying to me. I’ve had a look at possibly removing the winding in situ. Securing bolts are pretty solid as you have alluded to. Now soaking in penetrating oil overnight. I may well take the magneto completely off and sort it out on the bench if the in situ method does not work.
Just having a Yorkshire fish and chip supper to give me strength to continue tomorrow.
