Simon will have no trouble keeping the battery fully charged if he fits LED bulbs all round.

Modern 12V electrics make a huge difference. I ran mine with a Boyer, solid state regulator AND a 55/60w halogen headlamp that I always had switched on. Battery always stayed fully charged. If you fit a LED headlight, even better!
