That is it's richest setting
It is my mistake then. I thought it restricted fuel not air
I did screw it out and made no difference.
Will double check it tomorrow.
Thanks Mick for the heads up

That's the fastest tick over position

Am I missing something?
Screwing it in was my intentions as it would not idle.
I will screw the air screw out and crossed fingers and toes ;)
As always all appreciated.

Thank you Spriddler. I have worked on many Japanese bikes in the past and only last year setup my other bike.
Reading somewhere, if the mixture screw was infront of the carb it controlled the fuel and before the carb it controlled the air.
I did set it to 11/2 turns out and wound it in and out but no changes in engine bogging down.
Yet another test tomorrow then.
Thanks again.

There should be a very obvious reaction when the pilot screw is adjusted. If not, this will be due to a blockage in the fuel or more likely (if it's running very rich) the small air passages.

Force aerosol carb or brake cleaner or even WD40 through 7,8,9,10 and 31.

Once again thankyou,
I set the air mixture to 2 turns out. When first started it ran like a dream for all of 2 minutes then back to burbling.
It cannot be far out for it to run ok for a short period.
Ive drained the tank again and pre filtered it( very little debris). When the mixture screw was turned it made little to no difference. The pilot jet has been cleaned a few times and all this is pointing to the running rich from cold starting.
Will clean carb once again lol
Much appreciated to all comments and help.

Yes the choke slider is up and working fine....
After a complete strip down and cleaned with cleaner and all blown through with airline.
Started like a dream but then same as usual. I then took the plug out and it is getting fouled up.
The oil control screw was missing so had to make one. The bike is smoking a bit but not in excess and I'm wondering if this could have been the problem all along?
I have seen discussions on this saying it will smoke like he'll if the screw was out too much.
The screw should be about 1/4 to a 1/3 of a turn out. Could this be my problem?
Where can I get one if this is the case?
Cheers for sticking with me

Do you have the correct taper on the new screw?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record - have you checked the valve clearances?
