G2 Wassel electronic ignition.jpg
Has anybody fitted the Wassel electronic ignition kit that is on ebay and if so what is your experience of it? I am a bit wary of Wassel products so do not want to waste £200.00 if members have had bad experiences with it.
Any feed back much appreciated.

I've not tried the Wassel kit, but the Boyer Bransden is cheaper - and works perfectly.

If you look up item 183655330556 on ebay you will see that the Wassell Lightweight kit is £198.22 with £7.95 postage.

Thanks for the Boyer link Clanger, worth considering.

Are you on 6v or 12v? Boyer tell me they they no longer do a 6v and that's what I'm after for my 1959 G2.

Anybody recently fitted an electronic ignition to a 6v G2. I recently tried a Pazon PA2-6 but due to the mods required I took a refund. Also recently fitted a new 6v alternator and modern rectifier with a rewire hence reluctant to change to 12v.
Any contacts greatly appreciated.

I cant see the point in fitting e i, my bike is still on original points 6v system and works perfectly well starting and running mind you the lights could be better but I do very little after dark bike riding now.

If you're happy with your original 6v system that's fine. You could fit 6v LED bulbs to improve your lighting and use less watts. I would only change to 12v on an alternator model (with a dynamo the improvements in LED bulbs make it unnessary.) On alternator models the advantages of converting to 12v are it simplifies the wiring and does away with the resistance wire. The advantages of electronic ignition are better starting, does away with the points and capacitor, does away with the bob weights and springs, makes ignition timing very easy.
