Adding 12v and Electronic Ing to G12
I am cosidering adding 12v and electonc ignition to my G12. I have heard that the distributer needs to be reworked at some cost. Is this correct? Any other advise would be appreciated.

Hi Graham
Go to the search forum and type in electronic ignition and select 'any date' and you will have a plethora of information.
i have EI on my twin. It makes it much easier to start but running is not noticeably improved and you become completely dependent on a very good battery and really need to rewire the bike to 12v and make sure EVERY connector is 100% sound. If i could start my twin easily on the mag I would definitely have kept it. I have a gammy leg so the choice was made for me. Costs £200 plus 12v conversion.

Lawence. Thanks for the suggestion, which belatedly has been done. It seems that all the info is for changes to a megneto. Therefore as requested any info on what needs to be done to a distributer.
