Lightweight rear suspension

Hi all,

Amongst other issues I removed the rear suspension units from my M14 at the weekend in hope it would be a simple job of replacing the covers and bushes. That it wasn't, the shocks are fooked and provide no damping and looking around the forum there isn't much hope. Seeing as they're already knackered I'm going to try refill with fresh oil, I was thinking of drilling a small hole and welding a nut with an internal taper on it (female) and then have a bleed valve, reverse fill it and sorted. Apart from it might look ugly, what other options have people tried?

Thanks, didn't even see that section.

Having just looked at the shocks again, they're fit for the bin. The stanchions are pitted and a bit rusty, one shock has rubber appearing which i guess it the seal. Wonderful. :headbang:

NJB?

Curiously, Clanger and I have been discussing sourcing lightweight shocks halfway down this adjacent thread: http://www.jampot-spares.co.uk/forum/vi ... 0a850e4c0c
