A modern 350 AJS
I haven't come across this modern AJS before, though I may just be slow to catch on: modern 350 AJS
I cannot see the need for all those disc brakes, but I don't want to complain as the bike is at least that rare machine today - a light middle weight bike.
I wonder who this is aimed at - would newly qualified riders buy one?

If it's any good, there surely is a gap in the market for such a bike, it just might get a few more folk to progress and take the step up to two wheels. I wish it success, if that doesn't sound too silly.

I agree. Another bike that surely deserves success is the Honda NC700 series - low power and revs by modern standards but tremendous mpg, torque and very likely given its design, great longevity. Next up from a 350 AJS perhaps?

RE -The AJS SPT350 is a spectacular machine, it's driven by a 350cc fuel injected, liquid cooled twin cylinder engine. Disc brakes all round, two at the front, single at the rear. The twin exhausts sound amazing. 530 chain and tyre sizes are: Front 100/90/18 Rear 130/80/12. Nice little extras such as halogen headlight, rear rack and a digital gear indicator.
Could this be how the development of the model 8 or G3 would have / should have progressed.
Makes you think what could have been.....

Possibly Dean, except its a twin. Certainly as a smaller all purpose machine it occupies a similar niche.
Other bikes that for me echo G3 qualities are the Japanese domestic market 400cc singles that still continue today, in fuel injected guise to meet emissions, for example: 400cc FI single

Looks good value for money, hopefully the build quality is ok. Unfortunate designation though, how long befroe it's known as the "AJS SPiT 350"?

Ok, being positive, what should its designation have been? M12 perhaps?

M12 sounds ok, or how about the 350C as in city, or commuter?

Rex, If you do go for a look, please tell us real size of the back tyre the quoted 130/80/12 has me intrigued.
