Just like home in Gothenberg, Volvo cars owned by the chinese and the ship building cranes silent! Weather still good.

I doubt that you'll see one like the one at the Kerterminde International. Converted to run on gas produced by heating oak chips in a contraption carried in the sidecar!

On the quay last night We were entertained by 70 or so american cars and 4 harley d's doing a few burnouts! One car had a vintage caravan on tow! Went to visit the Vasa that sailed a few yards in front of the foolish king who commisioned it in 1628 and promptly capsized drowning 53 poor souls.Talk about top heavy! Too tall, under ballasted and with 2 gun decks too high. It is 93% original and was refloated in 1961. Off to Tallin, Estonia later today ,infamous for stag parties!

Went on tour of Tallinn in a 1970's soviet bus- with a more modern engine and up rated brakes, but not restored! The guides grandad got 5 years in a horrible prison for flying the Estonian flag from his house! There is only one and a half million of them but they are fiercely protective of their independence and culture. Off to Helsinki tonight.

Sat at dinner with a chap who managed with his new wife in the sixties to get all the way to Naples -and back on a ariel leader! I forgot to ask him how many spark plugs he used! a bit grey and greasy at sea today .I hear you have a heat wave-13 degrees here on the way to Gdansk.

Had a suspected case of covid on board so never got to Gdansk but to Gotland an interesting 100 mile long island that was a staging post for the Hanseatic league. Some very old small wooden houses inside the city walls can sell for a million quid! This boat must be fitted with motorcycle-type balancer shafts as it is so smooth! Not seen an old bike anywhere, but no tourists are about so I am not suprised.

On the homeward leg, the Kiel canal is too narrow for our boat ,built so the germans could get out of the baltic sea without passing between denmark and swedish waters, so we have to go the long way round!

I did notice 2 local ferries that run on lpg-and they were not small boats! We have had no rain and almost calm flat seas and will be back home tomorrow. Can't wait to ride a bike again- got serious withdrawal systems! See you all at the autumn do!!
