Makes me wonder why you joined the AMC club in the first place.Martin.S wrote:My apologies to the Spares Dept - there is a X o ring listed.
The smaller rings are available - the N.O.C list them as 040079SQ under the lightweight section.
Regarding earlier comments why have a lightweight section for spares if you have to look up by part number. As a prospective purchaser I would look under my specialised section for my spares - I wouldn't go to the Bakers for a pound of pork sausages!
That's not a very good attitude towards a member who has a valid point.G15 Roy wrote:Makes me wonder why you joined the AMC club in the first place.Martin.S wrote:My apologies to the Spares Dept - there is a X o ring listed.

In an ideal world all parts would be listed by part number, description and by photos/illustrations in all of their relevant sections of the Club Spares catalogue.ajscomboman wrote:Because it's not a specific L/W part as it fits both therefore it's listed by part number according to the factory books. Precisely that Nev, limited time and lots of historical wrong descriptions and parts being listed with modern numbers that merely add to the confusion. Having plenty of time on my hands as I recover from surgery I've gone through the entire system. I've removed as many duplicate and contradicting numbers and descriptions as I can find. Added parts to categories along with original numbers where they have dual roles and weren't included. Hopefully it'll all help but would add that you do go snowblind to it all and there are probably still some that could be improved, or I've simply missed them. If when browsing anyone spots errors I'd ask them to drop me a line president@jampot.com and I'll dive in and sort it.SPRIDDLER wrote:In an ideal world all parts would be listed by part number, description and by photos/illustrations in all of their relevant sections of the Club Spares catalogue.ajscomboman wrote:Because it's not a specific L/W part as it fits both therefore it's listed by part number according to the factory books. The nub of the situation is that we rely heavily on very, very few volunteers spending much of their family/leisure/fettling time contributing in so many different ways for the benefit of members.
(Although I've been a member for thirteen years I haven't been able to ride my Matchless for the past eight years and can do little fettling as a result of biking injuries. I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to apply my online virtual spanners and also enjoy the pleasures of participating in Club events on my adapted modern bike).
