There is such a tank on e-bay at the moment.

funnily enough, i saved that in my add to watch list i thought it might fit, but didn't know if it was ajs or not. even the seller didn't. thanks anyway john.

There was a smaller tank, not seen many and never fitted & I believed it to be for the competition models rather than the early models but I could be wrong on this. Ian

Some frame shots would be good...

Does the frame number not give a clue to what it started out as. If the fixings are different it must have started life like this.
Frame history should then reveal all?

hi ian, i used the dating service for the frame and it came back as 1959 ajs model 14. the top frame tube hasn't got a large hole right through and it's definately not a home made job. if you have a look back through my photo's you might be able to see it on there. i think the photo's were 'before' and 'after', or something like that.

it's on page 4 of classic road machines photo's. model 14 frame before and model 14 frame now. you can see it clearly in both phot's.

I saw the pictures, can you confirm below the bolt position on the frame their is not a matching hole raised bit. IE you could not remove the bolt and pass a bolt right through the frame. The position looks to be correct
