AMC REAR HUB STRIPPED THREAD
I have bored these out, re-threaded and made an oversize adjusting ring, and taken the opportunity to use a left-hand thread, as they should have been in the first place.
If the thread has stripped due to the ring unscrewing in use and ruining the speedo drive, I have found that with careful cleaning up of the stripped threads there is enough good thread to do the job.

AMC REAR HUB STRIPPED THREAD
Thank you for the info. Unfortunately I just don't think I've enough thread left, maybe 3 or 4 at most. Yes, L/H thread makes a lot of sense. I'm reluctant just to replace the hub as it's been on there for 41 years and I like repairing/recycling. I suppose some would say at 41 years it's worn out, but not me.
Cheers
