Oiless Primary Chaincase?
That's as bad as the twits who say they have an 'alloy' chaincase or 'alloy' head. The whole b..... bike is made out of one alloy or another.
I have been dying to get that in.

Oiless Primary Chaincase?
Just finished a Czech lager, so to keep the fun going...
The orginal (! - what was - the bike was 20 years old when I got it) had a difference to the inner that is now on. I'm sure it had a rudimentary "thrower" arrangement, but there's none on what's there now. The replacement was all I could get when the earlier one was wrecked (don't ask).
I'll have to take a look in the spares list.
But the clutch isn't slipping. I'm going to regret that, aren't I?

As my two 1956's are scramblers, they have a rectangular sliding plate "mud excluder" confined by welded on channels.
My friend's 1957 scrambler pressed steel case has round plate whatchamacallits retained by a crimped ring as the alloy, (aluminum, ), types introduced the following year.
I expect to hear comments about my American spelling of that soft white metal.
Cheers, Don.

For the sake of a few bob on top of your new primary chaincase gasket, and while the covers off anyway, put in new clutch springs,I replaced mine recently and the difference is marked.ATF is fine for the primary drive.
Hard work never killed anyone.....but why take the risk?
