I think Stuart means 'what sort of quality of life' would they have? Battery is assault in any language, and being left alone in a tin box stuck on the side of an ancient bike is just neglect.
Ok, I'll get me coat..........

G3/G3L Head and exhaust pipe
Returning to normality for a moment I have a WD G3L that has been "converted" to a G3
Well, It originated in 1943 but now has a complete girder front end, a tank with a small panel, a G3 rear end complete with QD wheel, and a G3 head and exhaust
When I finally get the bloody thing going again I will remember what it is like to ride but, I don't recall anything like 70mph!!!

Great, Dougie!
I think Biscuit said he was doing 70miles on a bike converted to 500cc, but maybe if you try hard enough...
SO the G3 Exhaust can be used on a G3L frame, right? or does it touch the footrest?
I had a look at the carb on the G3 head. It says 275\B10 so i guess that make it a G3L item.

Looking back, I didn't put it very well. Still retaining the 350 flywheels, there was little vibration until one hit 70 MPH - and then Oh boy!!. The acceleration was good though.

I would think you will be OK using the G3 exhaust.
There is a 500cc top end on eBay right now, listed under AJS .
You would need to take a hacksaw to the fins, as mentioned above.
You will probably be well advised to renew bigend before you fitted any 500cc bits.
