I'm getting close to completing my model 20, and currently putting the wiring loom in place.
My manual says the regulator (control box in the manual) fits inside the tool box wrapped in foam - lost me - it ain't going to fit in there.
Any ideas where it is supposed to mount?

That refers to the later models with the long toolbox. Are there not two mounting lugs on the rear subframe, just under the seat? You can see them on the spares list.

...you must have a manual covering 1956 and onwards. This is when slabsided toolboxes and oil tanks were introduced. Get the correct manual for 1954 and view and electronic version here:
