54 AJS 500 twin regulator

Post by Chad »

I'm getting close to completing my model 20, and currently putting the wiring loom in place.
My manual says the regulator (control box in the manual) fits inside the tool box wrapped in foam - lost me - it ain't going to fit in there.
Any ideas where it is supposed to mount?

Regards

That refers to the later models with the long toolbox. Are there not two mounting lugs on the rear subframe, just under the seat? You can see them on the spares list.

I have these on the '54 single.Edited by - Biscuit on 02 Jul 2007 1:03:35 PMEdited by - Biscuit on 02 Jul 2007 1:05:26 PM

...you must have a manual covering 1956 and onwards. This is when slabsided toolboxes and oil tanks were introduced. Get the correct manual for 1954 and view and electronic version here:

this is a 1955 version but should show the correct sheet metal wareEdited by - TommoT on 02 Jul 2007 5:21:34 PM
