G9 Timing

Post by Simonn »

Having spent ages giving the bike a good winter fettle and having a repair on my mag I have reset the timing, only problem is 180 degrees out i.e. the rear mag HT leads goes to the near side - does anybody know if it matters!

Deems to run Ok on the bench, starts first kick etc.

Thoughts and comments welcom please

Hi simonn, youve timed the wrong cylinder. I did this once and simply swapped the H.T. leads over rather than go over whole timing rituel again.Result, engine blew up after 100yds. [ONLY KIDDING] Covered many miles since without problem.Well not ignition problems anyway.

Makes no difference whatsoever, just remember you have done it though.

Thanks Chaps - I didn't think it would cause any problems - but it is always wise to check
