I've stripped and cleaned my carb of a sticky residue which has also built up on the back of the inlet valve. I understand this may be caused by a combination of modern fuel (E10) and infrequent use. I've just seen a post on the forum about a fuel stabilizer which can help prevent this. Is there a particular brand which anybody has used to good effect that can be recommended ?
Cheers.

Re: Sticky Carb
Places like Screwfix and Toolstation sell stabilizer for commercial (mowers, generators etc) and it seems to work fine and its pretty cheap.

Re: Sticky Carb
+1 for E5.
E10 caused grief on a pair of concentrics on one of mine after just ONE fill because no choice of pump (except diesel!) in the boondocks on a Sunday. Sticky float needles. Don't think it was coincidence as hasn't happened since.
Problem is, the 5 and 10 are max %s and we can never tell how close the stuff is to the limit . . .
