Hi there,
Anybody tell me what the 8mm hole does on the near side swinging arm?
Has it anything to do with missing side stand?

On mine the chain guard is fixed to two similar holes on the swinging arm.

It could be the fixing point for the full closed in chain guard. I see you only have a top half one.

Thanks men,just looking at a blue 250 AJS on Ebay..his photos show its a guard mounting point.
Here's another question for you,where would the original equipment side stand be mounted..and can they be found?

The side is mounted under the lower section of the frame. They are now available from owners spares , they were as rare as rocking horse
