1988 g80 harris

Post by carlos54 »

Afternoon. Does anyone know how to check the oil on our harris g80 1988. In the top of the frame i can just see the oil then when i start the engine i can just see it being returned. There is no frame dipstick or is it just got to be visible in the frame ? Cheers

I had one many years ago and cant remember were it was to be topped up to,
but do seem to remember that it fed from the bottom of the front down tube
and if there wasent enough in oil was trapped in the back of the top tube and
so it did not circulate as it should. Mine would break spokes on the drive side
of the back wheel fixed by fitting heavy duty spokes, and would run very rick
at high throttle openings due to a restricted air box, I cut 2 or 3 1 inch holes
in it and that cured it.
