Hi all haven’t used my shortstrokw for a year and it had wetsumped so sorted that but could get it to start , sparking well. Cylinder compression is 175, has the carb fully to bits cleaned everything with fresh fuel and brought new keys , still won’t start , plug not getting wet
but does fire on east start so I’m pretty sure must be fuel not getting there
Put my hand over manifold and it’s sucking
Starting to run out of ideas ??
Any ideas ?
Cheers andy

Monobloc carb?
First of all, does the carb flood when tickled?
If not, disconnect fuel pipe from carb and check that fuel runs out from the tank.
It's possible that the Pilot jet or and/drillings are obstructed even though you've 'cleaned' the bits.

Re: Fuel not getting to cylinder
check that the fuel tap is letting fuel to carb
Ethanol can rot fuel lines and seals in taps

Re: Fuel not getting to cylinder
As in my previous post: Is it a Monobloc carb?
Even though the carb floods and the manifold sucks I would still suspect the possibility of an internal carb issue.
However, it could equally be ignition since Easy Start relies as much on compression for ignition as it does a spark so following a basic process of elimination I'd fit a new plug as a matter of course and check that it gives a good blue spark when out of the cyl head.
Then if there's a good blue 'ish spark I'd put a teaspoon of fuel into the plug 'ole and see if that fires.

Re: Fuel not getting to cylinder
hi all just for future searching etc
i had cross threaded the main jet holder into the jet block
Replaced the jet block and all is fine
You learn something new every day!!!
