I tracked down some correct size gears which I then got a local machinist to reduce the width and increase the bore size to suit my M6. Unfortunately the company I got them from (Monotaro in Singapore) no longer seem to trade online.

Thanks Tim..I'm also back to trying to source a front wheel or even just the hub for my K8. not holding my breath though.
