Terry if you want a 6v battery then virtually any decent one will do. However are you talking about the physical size of the battery that's important to you? Will it be going in one of those rubber enclosures? Could you give us a bit more to work on here please?

Has someone uprated the electrics? Check the bulbs to see if they are 6 or 12 volt they should be marked.
Ps I wondered why this was posted in the modern AJS section. With the best will in the world I cannot see a 1939 model as modern!
