DYNAMO BRUSH ACCESS

Post by Blackcat »

Hi Guys, I have a 47 G80 with the original E3AR-A05-1 dynamo. I need to check the brushes but can't see how the Bakelite end cap comes off. I have removed the 2 nuts and loosened the clamping strap but the cap won't budge, and I don't want to force it. I assume you have to take off the clutch side, cogs and chains ETC, to totally remove the dynamo, which is a pain!

Perhaps Eamonn can move this to the correct section. This is for the Harris (Rotax engine) Matchless G80.

Graham also asked earlier in the (correct) G80 section yesterday.

It would seem that the cap is somehow stuck to the dynamo body so to avoid damaging it removal of the dynamo would be best.
Yes it comes out on the clutch side so some some dismantling needed.
