Tank mountings

Post by Anders Welle »

I have a question regarding a set of front tank mountings I purchased from Jampot Spares for my 1961 650.
The rubbers 021174 obviously have to be split to accomodate the turned down flange of bolt 027161. As delivered the rubbers are not split. The material is quite hard but a hacksaw will work. Do I have the correct rubbers, and should the split go all the way from top to bottom?

No the bolt just has to bite in.

Not with the new non rubber compound we all have to use nowadays Dave. I've found it's way easier to cut a slot with a hacksaw to let the flange slide in and just flare the rubber to a snug fit.
