ajs mod 20 500 twin

looking as to fitting down pipes to my ajs. do i need to use some sort of sealer were they fit into cylinder heads. any help would be appreciated.

Ordinary clear silicone sealant is best, wipe it around the silencer joints as well to prevent air leaks and popping on overrun. It does not burn and can be wiped off with superfine wire wool or a scraper when needed. I would avoid car exhaust paste as this can set hard and be difficult to remove.

I'm a bit cack-handed so I've put a few turns of masking tape around the pipe before applying the silicone.
