I have some swingarm end play on the 1961 Model 30, and I am not sure how fix this.
Is it possible to adjust the r/h bush by hitting it with a drift, while supporting the swingarm from the opposite side?
If so, must the spoke nipple first be unscrewed and the cover removed? Not being able to access the l/h cover could possibly make reassembly difficult?
Or can I just whack the bush with the cover in place, using a suitable pipe drift?
I remember a forum post about a club member who fixed end play on the spot during MOT by suitable whacking with a heavy object.
Or do I have to disassemble the rear of the bike, incl. the primary drive to get access for this job?
Lastly, am I right in assuming that the cotter pins that fix the bearing pin will not have to be touched in order to adjust the bushes?
