Last G12 produced?

Post by OLDNMATCHLESS »

I know that the subject has been brought up before regarding the last G12 produced (and very late engine numbers) but it has been some time since the last forum discussion (at least that I could find).

From the registry in the US club there are three 1966 G12s (All CSRs) listed with the engine # greater than 107xx.

An older post by Les Ward stated that the records were not available for 1966, but he did state that from what is known (I'm assuming from surviving examples) that the number ranged into #10xxx.

I see that Bacon's book does list a range for the date ending 7/66 of #10715 for the G12CSR.

How does Roy Bacon provide an ending number if the records don't exist? Curious.

Were all the last serial numbers assigned to CSR machines (as it would appear from the US registry)? Bacon's book shows up to serial #10784 for the G12 ending 7/66. Again, where did he attain this number?

I remember seeing some info that was published by John Allen, but maybe just frame numbers? I can't recall.

Has any further research been done on the subject?

Thanks!
