exhaust bracket

Post by Tremmy »

Hi All

hoping someone can help me with exhaust bracket measurements, I have a 1947 AJS350 16M, I am wanting measurements for the front exhaust bracket, it is a "Z" shaped bracket, in the manual it lists it as part number 011091 ??

thank you in advance

Cheers
Phil

Hello Phil, part 011091 is an exhaust pipe mounting for an AJS Model 14 so it's not the correct part number for a Model 16 bike.

I think the part number you require is 012133 - I'm sure someone will correct me if wrong!

Eamonn Part number 011091 is also listed as a bracket for the 47 500 model 18 - I do love a correction  but you are right the 47 350 model 16 has the bracket 012133 listed (although it is not illustrated) http://archives.jampot.dk/book/Spares_l ... 16M_18.pdf, 012133 is illustrated in the 1949 parts list and the shape looks identical to 011091, I would just be inclined to fit the exhaust pipe and then measure the length you need for your bike. The part number will only be right anyway if you have the correct exhaust pipe which runs tight to the bottom of the timing cover and goes over the footrest .

thanks All for your response, I think I will run with Clive's suggestion & measure. I was taking the easy option, but I can read a tape measure!!!
