From an email received on Saturday:
Hi, I'm writing to you with what may be a long shot but I'm interested to know if any of your members possess an AJS 18 that was once owned by my grandfather. My uncle is currently trying to find the bike so apologies if you have been previously contacted by him.
We know that the bike has been sorned since 2012 and a logbook last issued in 2005, the registration number is ETL 758. I have ventured every other avenue online and haven't found anything on it, so I write in hopes that your club may be able to help in some way.

I have found an old motorcycle before by writing to DVLA stating why you wish to know the whereabouts of said bike.
DVLA will then contact the registered owner saying you wish to know its whereabouts then its down the the registered owner to give permission for DVLA to give you the contact details.
Don't know if this has now changed since the new GDRP rules came into force but it worth a try.
