Like comparing apples and oranges...you can eat them both,,they just taste different. Two lovely bikes.

I fancied the 650 r.e.- but compared to my a.j.s. 650 it is taller, heavier and the footrests are in an awkward posiion to put your feet down plus the upswept silencers spoil the pillions comfort! So I bought a meteor instead!!

It also suffers from the same malaise as the new 'gold star' and my F650GS - an extra 40 quid a year on the tax for the sake of just a few too many cc

All I can say is, they do not know much about classic bikes and how they work, or what the controls do.

Bit surprised that they didn’t edit out the tall guy introducing the RE as a Matchless when he was giving the specifications for it?! Seems Henry Cole has spawned a few successors…..
