Alternative for Burman 5 Spring w/B52 G'Box

Post by peterg123 »

Folks I have lost my Burman 5 spring clutch for Matchless with GB52 box...all I have left is a brand new set of plates, but no basket.

So being as finding a useable Burman clutch is like findings diamonds in your backyard, what alternatives do I have? If any?

Thanks

An AMC one will fit but requires a spacer to line the chain up but this reduces the thread available for the centre nut, I believe the details are in the Archive.

Duncan, do friction plates for the Burman GB52 Box fit the AMC 3 spring clutch?

New chainwheels will be back in stock soon, centres you can get, rollers, races, thick and thin washer etc easy to find. The shaft adaptor is not so simple but in the pipeline. Now go find the diamonds and by then we'll have the chainwheel basket.

I've got a cp clutch. Had to alter the outer plate to fit a clutch rod adjuster. Works great, very light can be operated with one finger.
