It's tempting to get them "for stock" particularly as there was very faint roughness in the front wheel bearings when I greased them before the IJR although the wheel span forever on a delicate touch of spin. However, I used a graphite grease and on return to home Sunday they seem to have cured themselves!

Perhaps leave to those in real need and not add to the stock of things I've bought and not fitted.

It's a modified spindle. The bearings have an inner race.

"The bearings have an inner race"

does this mean that in future, should one live that long as to wear them out, it would be possible to put new bearing "easily" onto the modified spindle? That makes it a more inviting proposition in my view.

Is it possible to tell who has made the bearings? Not all are created equal.

Won't know until arrives. Although the comment was "yes, after about 100,000 miles when they need replacing, you only need to change the bearings".

About 5 years ago, we had a stall at the Banbury run next to Vintage bearings, they had just produced a batch and were selling at £115.00.
I wonder what the current price is?

There's a bit of a clue in their advert from Lawrence's above link, Didley.
