831 BKR G9

Post by mel »

A long shot I know, but trying to find out if 831 BKR (G9) is still out there, the bike was purchased new in the late 50's by Mr T Jackson from Kent.

Any info would be much appreciated.

It's not showing on the dvla's site to check if a vehicle is taxed. Doesn't mean the bike's not out there but if it is it's unregistered or has a new reg.

Thank's for trying tom, reason for this post is that I found an old snap shot of my sister & myself from around 1959 at Cliffe woods in Kent standing next to my uncle's new (831 BKR) Matchless G9, I was around 4 years old at the time and can just about remember it which is kinda weird because I cant always remember what happened last week :?

Would have posted the snap-shot if only I knew how to, but if anyone recognises the reg number relating to the G9 and would like to see pics of the old machine from back in the days then PM me an email address and I'll send it on.

It would be quite a long shot if the bike survived and with its original number. If it was still about for 10 years, by then it would have been unwanted. Cars had become more affordable for the working family man. There were by then, S/H smaller, perhaps faster more modern bikes for the teens.. If you recall it still sitting in the back of uncles shed early 70's, the bike may have survived. Probably not keeping it's old number.
BKR was a Kent reg. no. 1958 started 171 BKR. The series ended January 1958. The bike may have been an early 1958 model, like this.
