1930 R9 500 sidevalve engine parts needed
Hi All
I am a new lad on the block when it comes to restoration, this is my first bike.......Edited by Advertising Editor........ R9 sloping 500cc side valve. Would really appreciate any assistance. I am in Hobart Tasmania Australia, really love this bike. I have it completely stripped down now and would love to get the engine complete before I move on with the rest
Cheers
Kent

Hi Kent and welcome. I will edit your request as whilst we welcome requests for help on the forum, indeed its what much of it is used for, we do not allow advertisements on the forum. We do have a wanted section under our adverts and full members are able to advertise for wanted items there for free. Guest members have to pay £5 which they can do via paypal when placing the advert.

No worries. Incidentally your first few posts as a guest member will not appear immmediately as they have to be "moderated". This stops after a few goes once you have proved you are not some weirdo wanting to post pornography etc. Be aware though that your guest membership is only for a limited time.
Do ask about specific tasks as you proceed with your restoration we have one or two members familiar with the earlier models and a prewar officer who knows a lot.

Hi Kent
You may want to consider joining the Yahoo " Pre-war & WD AJS & Matchless M/C Group " as their focus is more on the earlier machines.

Just approved your application to join the e group Kent. Have you also tried to join this club??? We are having problem in that area at the moment, so be patient. Not sure if you have made contact with me, club prewar officer. I do get a lot of mail each day and do not recall all the names. You are in the best place for spare parts. I got nearly all the bits for my 1928 500 S.V. from Australia. Frame ( I did not want ) but had to buy it complete with Forks and front mudguard. Also got a front wheel that turned out to be a 1929 onwards v twin wheel.

Hi Kent and welcome to full membership of the club. I have just approved your advert which is on the website now and will appear in the April edition of the club mag as I am afraid it missed the deadline for March copy. You appear to have set up a new user name for the website on joining the club which is fine but remember to use it when logging in as full members get access to parts of the website not available to guests and also see adverts as soon as they appear, rather than having to wait until 3 weeks after they have been published in the magazine.
I hope you get some response on your missing parts.
Regards Clive advertising editor.
