pistons for singles

Post by bjork »

I've just come back from a piston shopping spree. I wanted a +0.060" piston for my 1949 G80. One of the pistons I now have is a Hepolite, solid skirt no expansion slots and three compression rings. Not been able to weigh it yet but it feels a little heavy to me. The only other Hepolites I've seen had slots and only two compression rings. Have I found the long lost AMC Diesel prototype piston? should I even consider using it for this years National Rally? Have you got a wire wound piston you don't need anymore? Please!!!!

Russell's will most likely have a JP piston to fit. The +020 JP I have in my '53 18S is only marginally heaver than a (slotted) std. Hepolite, and much lighter than the GPM pistons the club (and Russell's) sell.
