Spark Plugs

Post by bluewater1150 »

1960 Alloy Head 16C - One manual says KLG FE 80, another says FE 250/220, confused. What is the answer and where does one find the modern manufacturers equivalent?

Thanks

Elliot

According to my Roy Bacon rest book, the equivalent is Champion N5 both for FE80 and FE220. I don't know equivalents in other brands but any local car shop usually has a cross ref book for the plugs they sell.

I have an interesting equivalent chart that shows the following for this plug physical size:

fast cruising/little town driving:

KLGFE80 or KLGFE100
Lodge 2HLN
Champion N4 or N3
NGKB7ES

Maximum speed cruising/short circuit racing
KLGFE100 or KLGFE220
Lodge 3HLN
Champion N3
NGKB9ES

Moderate/average service
KLGFE70 or KLGFE75
Lodge HLN
Champion N4 or N5
NGKB6ES

slow driving/about town/frequent stops
KLGFE50
Lodge CLNH
Champion N8
NGKB5ES

Good luck with your selection
