Lycette saddle fixings

Post by Invicta »

Hi, I have obtained a pair of genuine AMC saddle mounting brackets and would like to know how these were originally fastened to the saddle frame. There are two 3/16" holes in the brackets that line up with two 5/16" holes in the saddle frame. I am uncertain of the origin of the saddle frame , so it may not be a genuine Lycette. My question is, were these brackets originally riveted to the frame, or were they bolted to it and if so what size bolts were used? I have another frame where the rear spring mounting brackets are riveted to the saddle frame. This is what made me wonder if the front fixing brackets were riveted too. 3/!6^ bolts seem a bit on the small side. Can anyone with a genuine original saddle please confirm how these front brackets are fixed? Than you. Invicta
