piston rings

Hi i have very good barrel for a 350 matchless but require new set of rings unfortunately it appears on inspection to be 30 plus , i have never seen this size before, can any one tell if replacements do exit. cheers Richard

Hi Richard, yes replacements are available, NOS at autojumbles and auction sites are often in the +0.010 increment intermediate sizes as the majority of pistons appear to be in the +0.020 increments. One of the piston ring suppliers like Cox and Turner should be able to help if you give them the details of the piston.

Is +30 from your measurement of the cylinder bore or the stamping on the piston?

I have just fitted a set (twin) plus 60 to my latest re build £84.00 that's the budget all gone for this bike :lol: very good service ordered late afternoon and arrive next day.
