Poppy Appeal Badges

Post by colinsnowden »

Hiya folks, just been speaking to the Isle of Man British Legion, they are going to send me 15 of their poppy appeal badges. These are particular to the IOM insomuch as they feature a motorcycle, the other year I got a sidecar outfit and a solo racer. I thought that when I came to the Bader I could flog them for the cause for a couple of quid a pop.
What do you think?

I'd love one and more than happy, as every year to donate. Dad rode a Matchless through WWII, even mentioned in dispatches.

Only a couple of quid? I would have thought the donation should be encouraged to be a little more. To PM another member click on their name and their details come up, bottom left it says send a PM. Click on it.

Now a word to Clive.
Thanks for your kind word on pming, I had managed to figure it out but appreciate your response.
I sighed when I read your comments on the price, lol, there's always one.
I discussed with the British Legion in the Isle of Man what I might do, them saying they had hundreds of the things. They were quite happy so we agreed on 15 to be sent to me, (the discussion included a price) I had originally thought to get one only for myself but I thought, I'll let other people benefit from what I reckon is a good thing, the Legion as well. I'll let you, lol, Clive, pursue your own efforts.
I'm not going to say any more, just mildly hacked off.

Now on to the badges themselves. I've got 10 left, some I must keep for East Suffolk .
Postage this morning was £1.29, I expect it to be the same tomorrow, make your request on here, make a donation to the Legion by a poppy seller, send me a stamped addressed envelope and I'll put it straight back to you with the badge.
We're am I?

And in case a damp spark comments on the Postage, because of the height of the badge it has to go as a heavy letter and it is first class.
