Matchless T3 1928

Post by bischis2 »

Hello
My name is Martin and I live in Switzerland.
I restored a Matchless T3 from 1928 about 15 years ago. In the meantime I bought a replacement engine, but without a piston. I am now trying to restore the replacement engine, but so far I have not found any piston. Does anyone have a +0.20 piston in stock that they no longer need? Are there pistons from other engines that can be modified?
I look forward to receiving helpful answers.
Kind regards Martin

If it helps, 1926 to 1930 Matchless 500 SV models L5 T. T3 & T5 all use the same piston.

Hi Martin,

Not being a specialist on the particular topic, but in case everything goes bad you might want to contact Mr.Wahl at Wahl Spezialkolben in Germany.
I guess he would not be even too far away from your neck of the woods and he also does Imho reasonably priced one offs.

Kind regards

Hello
Thank you very much for the helpful answers.
Good to know that this piston has been fitted to other models, thus widening the search radius.
A colleague is restoring a T3. If he also needs a new piston, we will certainly contact Mr Wahl.
stays healthy
