1928 AJS K12 sidevalve
After owning the bike since 1993 I am gradually making progress! The mag has been repaired and now runs anti-clock and I have the weird adjustable sprocket as well as the cam sprocket. But I cannot find anywhere the size and length of the mag chain. Assuming the picture in the spares list is correct it is 16 and 1/2 links long and endless and I can guage the size from the sprocket. Hoping to buy at Kempton this weekend. Anyone know or point me in the right direction to find the correct info? many thanks

They don't tell us chain sizes Clive.
Have you seen the above notes written by a Stevens Bro.? If not you may find illustrations give some clues.

Thanks for the link Rob its enabled me to confirm tappet clearances and advance for my model and year. I guess I will go with accurate measurement of the sprocket centres and work from there when buying the chain.

My friends at Sprockets Unlimited have records of every bike from the beginning of time and will be able to supply what you want. You can contact them at Claybrook Farm Cottage, 103, Bretforton Road, Badsey, Evesham, Worcestershire. WR11 5UQ. Tel 0044 1386 831341.
The above taken from a topic of sprockets and chains Clive. may be worth a try to see if they can help.
